His professional career started off with a Senior Residency in Cardiology at AIIMS during and after the DM programme, up until November 2004. He then served for about a year-and-a-half as Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi, up to 2006. He was next stationed at the Jaipur Golden Hospital in New Delhi until April 2012, where he held the posts of Consultant Cardiologist, Chairman of Cardiology and Senior Consultant Cardiologist. Since then, he has been associated with Max Superspeciality Hospital.
Dr. Naresh Kumar Goyal has worked on many research studies, the findings of which have been consolidated into scientific papers by the research team; these and other papers co-authored by Dr. Goyal have been published in peer-reviewed national and international journals pertaining to his field of specialisation.
